Fresh seafood in Split Croatia
Are you a brave enough traveler to ignore the dead head and focus on the fresh tuna?

Travel Porn delivers visual stimulation from around the world each week (most likely Fridays when I’m not stuck in a backwater somewhere). If this doesn’t get you hot, bothered, and fantasizing about your packed luggage (carry on, roll on, backpack, whatever turns you on) you might not be a traveler…

Fresh seafood in Split, Croatia‘s fish market.

It may be my years in Japan, or the fact that I grew up on an island but a fresh chunk of tuna really gets me going. If you are traveling down Croatia’s Dalmatian coast you are obligated to eat the fresh seafood available everywhere. Skip the touristy areas to make sure you are eating local fare and not frozen shrimp shipped halfway around the world.

I usually post pictures from my travel porn box, but if you want to guest post with you own visual stimulation (any type of media goes) contact me and we can discuss.

Like the sound of a bit of tuna sashimi ;) Just remind me which bit to eat though first!

  3. I’m definitely brave enough :) A few years ago in Korea I ate raw tuna at this wonderful restaurant at least once a week!

  4. I am not brave enough to eat that.

  5. Did you eat the eyeballs as well? I am still undecided about sashimi. Love it one day, hate it the next. Nothing beats freshly caught snapper though that you smoke or fry yourself that night!

No, I’m not an eyeball man. But in Japan many people swear they are the best part of the fish! But I do love sashimi, give it to me raw and fresh and I won’t ever get tired of it :)

  6. Hmm..travel porn? That’s an interesting and odd way of putting it. I wouldn’t think you would want a negative connotation associated with your blog posts…but, hmm….I could be wrong.

Hey Jon, well it is all tongue in cheek :) My readership is youngish, sarcastic (mostly) and enjoys a nice innocent play on words….I hope! This is also all a bit of an experiment in terms of google search issues. I’m careful with my back end SEO to make sure my site is not seen as Porn or porn related. I’m all for quirky turns of phrases to get people thinking a bit. From your point of view does it put a negative connotation to my posts?

Porn? Me thinks you are a ratings …………. ok I can’t say it. Art, not porn. Unless of course you are “excited” while looking at dead fish.

I didn’t grow up on an island (I wish I had), I haven’t spend much time in Japan (yet) but I’m also a sucker for fresh tuna…
